Originally from Sydney, Father David has exercised an evangelistic, pastoral and teaching ministry for forty years (even before his ordination) that has taken him to many parts of Australia, the South Pacific, Africa, the USA and Europe.

He was made a deacon in 1979 by the Rt Rev'd John Hazlewood, Bishop of Ballarat, and ordained to the priesthood in 1980. He served various parishes in the Anglican Diocese of Ballarat until moving to Brisbane in 1995 where for ten years he was Rector of the flagship Anglo-Catholic parish, All Saints' Wickham Terrace.

Father David has served as national Vice Chairman of Forward in Faith Australia, Provincial Secretary of the priestly Society of the Holy Cross ("SSC"), and Anglican Chairman of the Ballarat Joint Anglican/ Roman Catholic Commission. Since 1996 he has been Superior of the Society of Mary, Australian Region.

Consecrated as a bishop in 2005 by a group of Anglican Communion and Continuing Anglican bishops, he exercised a ministry of episcopal care jointly among Forward in Faith Anglicans and Continuing Anglicans in northern Australia until 2010.

For Father David, the Catholic Faith and evangelical Gospel ministry go together, along with an openness to the work of the Holy Spirit who enables us to reach out to others in love, and exalt Jesus as Lord, giving him the glory in our secular age.

Father David holds a General Licence in the Anglican Diocese of The Murray, South Australia.

He is passionate about helping local church communities - as well as individual clergy and lay people - become more effective in their witness to the Lord, and in their ministries.
