Adoration in the Christmas Season

Before thine altar, O most Holy Child,
we kneel today,
So long ago the shepherds knelt before thy cradle.
And, even as they,
beholding their God in the face of a little Child,
fell down and worshipped;
so we, beholding thy sacred Presence
beneath the sacramental veil,
praise and adore our Lord and our God.

We give thee thanks for thy great mercy.
O Holy Child,
we give thee thanks for thy great humility.
For in the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
Hosanna in the highest!
And the Word was made flesh,
and dwelt among us;
And we have beheld his glory.

Word made Flesh pray for us.
Emmanuel, God with us, pray for us
Wonderful Counsellor, the Mighty God
Grant us thy peace.
